Problem
Existing deployment platforms like Netlify, Vercel, and Cloudflare require platform-specific configuration and create vendor lock-in. Deno's layoffs exposed how fragile depending on a single provider can be. If you don't control your infrastructure, you don't control your product.
Solution
An independent, open-source CLI that takes full ownership — from empty VPS to production with TLS in under 60 seconds. No platform config, no vendor lock-in, no third-party dependency.
What was built
CLI
Built with cac + @clack/prompts. Commands: init, deploy, domain, status, cost, ssh, down. Compiles to a single binary via bun build.
Infrastructure as Code
Custom lightweight IaC using fetch + Hetzner REST API + bun:sqlite for state. No Terraform, no Pulumi, no external runtime.
Astro Adapter
@scale.digital/astro-bun — Astro 6 adapter for Bun with ISR, ETag/304, static manifest generation. Published on npm, 32 tests passing.
Daemon
scaled — compiled Bun daemon replacing SSH/Caddy. Reverse proxy, app lifecycle management, ACME TLS. Currently in development.

Every tool we use, we use actively — not passively. When a bug blocks our work, we debug it to the root cause and fix it upstream.
nixpkgs maintainer for flyctl, fluxcd, biome. Rust-level fix in Biome. Vite-level fixes in Qwik and Astro. All merged, all from real work.
